Embedded Power Supply for QL

Post by Dave »

I have listed for sale some very nice embedded power supplies suitable for re-cased QL systems.

I am charging $49.99 - £29.75 - 36.15€ plus my usual flat rate shipping of £2 - 2.38€. All proceeds benefit the QL hardware development fund. I have a quantity of these, new old stock, and they allow QL backplane systems to be put in much smaller cases.

Detailed description: A tiny embedded switch mode power supply with a high capacity and high efficientcy for low heat output. Measuting only 102 x 51 x 25mm (4" x 2" x 1") they can deliver 5V @ 8A, 12V @3A and -12V @ 0.5A. Comes with an IEC panel mount socket, switch, and power cable with standard 4-pin header for a QL backplane, plus a 6 pin header. Also included are four self-adhesive stand-offs to make mounting the PCB in any enclosure very easy. New old stock with one year warranty and full instructions.

I'm not sure from the description whether this will go in a Black Box. I figured no, but the blurb seems to say simultaneously "any re-cased QL" and yet "any enclosure."

If this embedded PS will go in a Black Box, it would make sense to get it instead of an old 80s "bit of kit".

If it doesn't fit in a Black Box, w/o modification, let's please stick with sending the "old" PS we talked about. I will then be able to test the floppy cables Derek has sent (and I haven't paid for yet :-( as he requested I test the cables first, even though I think I should pay regardless, esp with hanging onto them so long :-) ).

Thanks Dave,
Doug

The embedded supplies I have are not suited to go inside a black box QL case.

I'll continue with plan A.
