About Global Shipping that is a simple concept...
The buyer (let's suppose from EU zone) buy something into UK (with global shipping). Thanks that Ebay now has a proxy (similar than other platforms have implemented (ie AliExp), the buyer knows very well the whole amount of money. Shipping, cost of the product and taxes to pay TO Ebay.
Ebay take care about the rest, so it deal with custom borders, clearance, whatever from UK to its proxy into EU zone.
Once there, Ebay re-ship it to the final customer (the buyer), and the buyer HAS NOT to pay a penny else. because it is a regular shipping from EU2EU.
That is the concept and how it works.
How do it internally Ebay to deal with the taxes, border clearance, off... that doesn't matter, it is transparent for us. While it keeps not regulated (over-regulated) by the political party on charge (EU loves too much to regulate everything), then it will work like that.
I have bought some things from UK by that system and it is nice. I pay almost the same, but:
1. My courier company cannot cheat me any more with extra fees or services that they doesn't do at all.
2. I know on payment, the final cost for me.
3. The seller doesn't care if I am inside EU or UK, the extra charge is on me.
4. All is legal, till some corrupt party decide to put its hands on that money again.
5. I don't need to do any custom form or complicates procedure and give it to my border clearance any more.
