Any update on the project? No rush, just curious about current timelines.

Hi,

I have received the Q68 PCBs with all the SMD components soldered.

I have found a better case, which is a split design, so installation of Q68 board is easier. The end panels are fully andoised, supplier is UK based, so no EU regulations.

The remainjng tasks are:

- source the remaining components, that I hand solder.
- make a QL Network wiring circuit and drill the side of the case to fit the Net connectors.
- source some SD Cards for SMSQ/E and application software
- source PS/2 splitter adapters

I am thinking of not fitting a I2C connector, is this problem?

So a little to do... I am sorry for the delay in the project date estimates.

Regards,

Derek

Hi Derek,

I'm on the waiting list for a Q68, I have no plans to use the I2C interface, so this would not matter to me.

I was planning to use the i2c connector, so it would be nice to have it.
But if it is too much hassle then I can live without it

I don't have immediate plans for I²C, and I suspect that if/when I do need it, I would be okay with soldering on my own connector.

Hi,

I have taken a note of your interest in the Q68.

Hi all,

it seems there will be some new Q68 users / owners very soon. Thus I am asking myself if there is interest in a batch of QL Keboard to PS/2 interfaces? This interface attaches to the QL keyboard membrane and to the PS/2 keyboard input of Q68. Means the QL Keyboard can be used to control the Q68. Joystick input can also be done. See details here:

As I do not want to hijack this thread, kindly to not replay here. Either use PM or the interface thread linked in this post. If there is a recent interest, I would set up a batch as kid or assembled.

Enjoy the Sunday,

Stephan

Before someone goes for just a keyboard adaptor, note that the QLbase board (without Qzero plugged in) offers general support for a Q68 inside a QL case. Of course QL matrix keyboard interface. But additionally a Q68 power supply at the back of the QL case, dual network connectors, support for the QL speaker, separate USB mouse connector (only combo devices), power switch, ribbon cable connector for Joystick SubD. And even a fix for the "network down on power down" issue.

I should open a separate thread for QLbase when I find more time. But for now, some infos can be found beginning here:

Replies please in that thread, not here.

Thank you for the efforts, Derek. I'm on the list and the i2c connector is not important in my case, particularly if it poses extra difficulties for you. If needed, I can solder it myself.
