New QL backplane.
Re: New QL backplane.
Hi all,
I have sold through all the most expensive DIN connectors and now I am using more affordable components. These are ready to ship today.
New lower pricing is:
With 2 thru connectors: $25 (which is apparently £19.50 or €22.20)
With 3 thru connectors: $31 (which is apparently £24.00 or €27.50)
Shipping to Europe parcel post is flat rate $13.50 £10.50 €12.25 up to half a pound (two backplanes). Within US is $5.
There are only a few left. Paul will take over production when the rest arrive with him.

Re: New QL backplane.
I see from the tracking that some of the first backplanes arrived today. I look forward to people posting some pics of their new builds

They are really solid, yes! I like how they came out. After the amount of thought I put into them and the amount of testing they had, I know they're really clean, too.
I hope you get some good use out of them.

Mine also arrived, packaged very well and all right !.
I have tried to connect my QL-GoldCard system with my Qubide clone, but now I have a problem. My QubIDE does not fit because the QubIDE chips with sockets take up a lot of space.
It would be great a QubIDE clone "slim version", with soldered chips on board (without sockets) and on-board CF socket.

You can either desolder the sockets and mount the ICs directly on the PCB, OR you can wait a few months and the answer to all your problems will be available.
Meanwhile, I spent the evening moving this board from Eagle to the new PCB design tool I'm using. It's another leftover from 2014. Soon, all the cool QLs will have one.
