whereby the two 'halves' of this curious design would split apart if you weren't careful when levering out the CPU. The two halves are a nuisance to fit back together as the spring-loaded pin contacts tend to spray apart.

Also a RGB-SCART cable may be a quick and cheap solution. Don't forget to show us your modified QL!

I had a microdrive unit that would spin continuously. I came to the conclusion it was the ULA, which are not easily available. But before I could go further, I found another of my microdrive units had developed an open circuit read/write head. So I ended up mading one unit out of two.
