Post by Wicksy »

Do eurocards handles exist to buy as the GST card had?

You want something a bit better than the GST handle. It’s too flexible imho

HI,

I do not think that is a handle, but the extraction clips for the Floppy Drive cable.

But since the Floppy Drive interface connector is secured by screws, a handle could be fitted there, maybe longer screws maybe required.

No, it’s an extraction handle for the card (there is no floppy connector)

It always feels like it might break so I try not to use it

Sorry, I've confused the handle with something else (not sure what though) as it IS rigid

But the short depth of the card does it make it tricky to extract using the handle (for my fingers anyway!)

Yes it's not a great example. My gut feeling there isn't one out there.

I know Dave has a 3D print file for the Sinclair card case online, but I don't have access to a 3D printer.

HI,

Sorry for the mistake.

I have a old SCSI Card that came out of a server, which had a handle on it.

It all depends on the holes centres for the existing handle.

I can not see any QL Card Case STL files on Thingyverse. However is a list of all the Sinclair QL STL files avaialable:https://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=Sinclair+QL&page=1

That one prints all in one - it doesn't have a detachable base plate. Also, it has no internal support uprights - so when printing - it can sag. I suspect a resin printer will have no trouble with it. My ender 3 pro did a reasonable job on it - but I had a little sagging and some stringy filaments to tidy up.

I guess if you know the spacing between the screw holes (centre to centre) and the diameter of the holes you could knock something up quite easily
