Hi,

Not at present, maybe in the future.

I would not supply a Q60 board without compatible parts fitted and tested.

Please note the Wikipedia entry has many errors, I did not have any input into the article.

Keep us informed, I am willing to preorder no matter the time, Q40 its easier and cheaper to source full 040 mmu fpu

I would not make a Q40, mainly to the bad political situation that developed with Qbranch and supported by QL Today.

So the decision was made on 2004, to distance everything from the reputation that the manufacturers of the Q40 had introduced by bad workmanship on a perfect and excellent design.

The Wikipedia entry with regards to the Q40i:
Wikipedia: Q40 (motherboard) wrote: The Q40 board was produced in limited quantities before being superseded by the Q40i
This is wrong there was only one Q40i made and sold.

Today, 20 years on, I would only make a Q60, not for the reasons above but because in 2002, I wanted a QL with a 68060 CPU, which started the batch production to other interested parties.

But I do not think you want to know about all this. Read the lies in QL Today and QL-Users mailing list.

I will keep you updated if I can motivate myself to build more.

I hope you are aware that the video output was designed for multisync monitors.
For CRT that never was a problem, but there are almost no multisync flatscreens.
Some reported successful use of the OSSC to convert the signal.
Otherwise one needs a workaround, using a modded video chip generating 1024x768 resolution, but with a black bar.

All this is not nice, so at times I consider a new mainboard with actual 1024x768 video resolution.
If I design that, it would only support the 68x60, no 5V logic anymore.

Thanks for pointing that out

As old Amigan I have one new multisync
https://youtu.be/ghif75LOTe0

if you improve outpout thats great.

i have QL RGB to HDMI, can I use it on Q060? or just HDMI upscaler part?

I would preorder Q60 but that nees 060 CPU what exact model?

That looks like it has a chance to work with the original Qx0.

It would be a completely new machine, a huge project. Super crazy to do that in 2025...

Unfortunately that is hopeless. Q40/Q60 has much higher video frequencies than a QL.

Thanks, but I'm not taking any orders.
Default would probably be the MC68EC060RC75, for those who do not need Linux.
For myself, I'd use the MC68EC060RC75 and see how much I can overclock a MC68060RC66.

Why is an Amigan interested in a Qx0?

My thoughts were to use a MC68EC060RC75 which runs at 80Mhz.

I have some 68RC060RC50a left over from the old Q60 production, I did 20 years ago. I will have to chheck that all the components are available.

But I have 30 Q68 boards and cases to make. So I will not be able to look at the Q60, till after this production run.

The main issue with yhe Q60 today, is the lack of moniyor for high resolution, I use a 17" SVGA CRT which works perfectly, but a little heavy and bulkly.

My advice in the interim, would to get a QIMSI Gold which plugs into the QL board, gives access to HDMI Screens.

I was Speccy user first and was dreaming of QL back in 1985-7

I am intersted :D EC is OK since QL uses no MMU no FPU

Just say where and how :D I will do it before Q60

Speed-wise, the current QIMSI Gold does not reach the Q40, let alone the Q60.
Lacking cache, it is roughly between a 68020 and a low-end 68EC040 design when it comes to computing speed (unless the small amout of fast RAM is used).
Especially, if you are interested in high graphics resolution and high color at the same time, QIMSI Gold is no option, since it has no separate video RAM.
So think twice. If you still want one, please feel free to message "Maskenlos".

I'd like to see a little clearer, why you - as an Amiga guy - want a QL style 68040/060 system. After all, Amiga has the Warp 1260.

Is it the fact that Q40/Q60 are full mainboards, not add-on cards?

Or is it rather a collector's general interest in classic 68K machines?
