Microdrive Test Software?

Post by t0nyt »

I was wondering if there was any software to test the read/write operation of a Microdrive please?

(Don't need anything that tests formatting as the drive I particularly would like to put thru it's paces I know won't format)

Many thanks

As I wasn't able to get any bare ROM Port boards to make my own, I've purchased a few for re-purposing

But one of them is a bit strange because, unlike all the others, it doesn't have (what I assume) is a logic chip, just an eprom

Does this board look safe to use in the QL please?

I spy a transistor on there. Probably switches the /OE on the ROM if a certain address line goes high or low.

Yes, it has a transistor. Is there any particular implication in what you describe please?

I hadn't noticed the crack on the capacitor. Probably best to not use?

Looks like a decoupling cap so don't worry about it.

It'll be safe to use.

Hi, I’m not near a computer so can’t check, isn’t there bas versions as well? Or you don’t have any way to read the files.

Yes, wasn’t sure if they worked in conjunction with each other (bin+bas) or were separate versions of the same thing

I now realise they are separate entities

Can’t find anything wrong with my MDV2, so it looks like both my master copies of BJ in 3D have given up the ghost as copyright keys
