Another non-techie person question.
Watched a YT video showing an Amiga with a PATA SSD which plugs into the Amiga IDE interface (uses simple cable)
No adapter needed. Worked fine with the Amiga without any fiddling about.
Video also has disk-on-module. The DOM plugs directly into the IDE i/face

You get them on sizes from 8GB upwards.
QL IDE i/face with IDE SSD or DOM - would it work ?

In my experience and testing, these work with the QubIDE interface. SOME SATA adapters also work but it's really hit and miss.
Re: QL IDE i/face with IDE SSD or DOM - would it work ?
Hi,
I have been upgrading my Q60 with SATA3 SSD and I/F to IDE(PATA) connection.
This is what worked for me :
Multibao PATA IDE to SATA Interface Adapter Converter, Serial ATA SATA to Parallel ATA PATA/IDE Hard Drive for 3.5"/2.5" Hard Drive HDD DVD from amazon.
Integral P Series 5 120GB SATA III 2.5 Internal SSD, up to 560MB/s Read 540MB/s Write from amazon.
The capacity of the SSD is much greater than needed for a QL system but the cost is between a 16GB CF card and a 32GB CF card.
The SATA disk and the IDE to SATA adapter are for the Q60 plug and play as they say. The SSD seems subjectively slightly faster than the old IDE hard disk.
I have tried CF cards and interfaces and they have been a bit iffy - I have 2 that work out of 5 tried.
Cheers
