Not sure if you are all familiar with Playtapes? They were very small tapes, like 8 track, but about 1/4 the size. Still bigger than Microdrive Carts but closer than big 8 tracks.
Wonder if these could be used to re-felt our carts?

The new (high density) felt needs to be 4mm long, 2mm wide and no more than 1.5mm high otherwise it'll put too much pressure on the tape.
