Sorry, I am late to the party...
I've recently picked up the love for my QLs again and one of the things I was missing was a decent display.
I've read the whole thread and decided to make my own.
Found a nice case (a Pactec CNS-0101) and made the PCB to fit inside this case.
It's is based on the Pi Pico or Zero, but decided to include all components on a single 4 layer 1mm PCB to make it fit between the pins of a D-Sub15.
In hindsight I should have printed my own case, because I have a total of 4 connectors now.
One DIN, D-Sub 9 male and female and a D-Sub 15 female for the VGA, which makes the whole a bit on the expensive side.
This is what it looks like now:
There is an option for a jumper (not populated) in case I want to feed the 5V from the RGB connector.
I have a few spare boards left, so I can build a few more if anyone is interested.
If you feel confident with your soldering skills, I can also supply the bare board.
Holmatic (I don't now his real name) did a fantastic job! Tested with a few monitors and my TV and the picture is excellent!
Credits to him are on the PCB.
I might respin the board and just use a DIN connector and a D-Sub 15.
