There's quite a number of reasons why one would want to do that - Even if I didn't happen to have a RiscOS computer back then:

1. It's not an emulator, it's native
2. I really think it fits the RPi much better in terms of required juice than Linux
3. It's blazingly fast
4. And it's a much more modern looking OS than QDOS
5. It's supported by a healthy community

But don't move away from QDOS!
