Prototype Gold Card battery adapters!

Post by Dave »

Hi all,

I am selling off a very limited quantity of prototype battery adapters for Super Gold Cards and Gold Cards. They are $15.00 each, including postage. $15.00 is approximately £9, 11€. I'll ship to the confirmed PayPal address. They ship within 24 hrs. Limit two per person.
Hello my precious!
Hello my precious!
They are the successful prototypes that met all the electrical and mechanical requirements. They look exactly the same as the production adapters from above, but they are based on hand-etched and cut PCBs. They are individually numbered prototypes and I have signed them. They are in every way functionally identical to the production units. Who knows, they may become collectible. There are eight available, and I will edit this post as they sell.

Payment by PayPal to plastic@plasticuser.com.

Hehe, yeah. I made, across all three approaches, over 100 prototypes, of which I only considered the last 15 or so "acceptable", and some of those not suitable for sale.

Lee Privett and Wim get the first ones. All other outstanding orders have already been shipped (and reshipped - thanks USPS! NOT!) and all these ones will be shipped with tracking numbers.

ALL shipping from now forward will include tracking.

They look a little like leather pouches :)

Got mine, it looks like exactly it does on the tin :)

Now, how do I fit them...

*grins*

It seems I have been lax. I made a beautiful instruction sheet, but in my enthusiasm to mail them, you're the second person who hasn't got the sheet :)

The original battery has a notch which indicates the +ve terminal. The other three legs are ground.

The adaptor has a circular battery holder with a square end facing one corner. That end has a gold contact on top of the battery. That is the +ve pin.

With a GC or SGC in front of you with the QL expansion on the right and the floppy interface on the left, the +ve pin is always in the bottom left corner.
