MPlane request for comments...

Post by Dave »

Hi all. I have sold a grand total of three MPlanes in two years. There is no demand for them. I think they're the best design electrically, but I suspect some people don't want to cut off their ROM port and use the ROM port on the backplane.

I know the MPlane was designed specifically for a mobile platform. It's very good, but it lacks a couple of things that make it easy to use with today's cases.

I am faced with a choice to either design a mount for it, or to design a new backplane based on the same electrical design that is better suited to modern case designs.

If you have a backplane and use it, could you maybe post a photo of your set-up and give a description of how it ended up that way? That way, I can see what works for you and what doesn't.

Then, I can make an informed decision about either adding to these MPlanes, or creating a new PCB to use the same parts in a different layout.

All comments welcomed!

I always liked the ROM Port inside and not hanging outside.

Are you going to be selling MPLANES, as I would like to buy one, I have a Qplane, but this is very noisy and causes a lot of issues. Mplane is better.

Regards,

Derek
