It's not just the 6 pin mini Din format though - the SuperHermes doesn't understand what has now become the standard PS/2 scan code set - so more modern keyboards won't work with it. Older PS/2 keyboards that support switching the code pages will work if they support the scan code set the SuperHermes requires. AT keyboards will generally work.
Electrically the AT interface and PS/2 interface are idential.

Re: Faulty RAM *RESOLVED*
Hi,
Every Superhermes cable to 5 Pin DIN to PS2 cable I have bought or made all work, no failures.
Even on PS/2 Switch ports

Well, PS/2 typically means "older".Pr0f wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:15 pm It's not just the 6 pin mini Din format though - the SuperHermes doesn't understand what has now become the standard PS/2 scan code set - so more modern keyboards won't work with it. I'm using an Unicomp, which is basically brand new (but built to ancient design), and it's working fine. Some of the combined USB/PS/2 keyboards you can buy these days, however, really don't work properly, that's true. But I'd reckon these are really just a few.

So if I buy a second hand vintage keyboard with a DIN AT connector, I should be good to go?
Like this one for instance: https://www.ebay.nl/itm/276732410319?_s ... R5zH8s25ZQ
Or a nice black one with a PS2 to DIN AT adapter?

I went for this keyboard in the end - viewtopic.php?t=4554 (Cherry comptact keyboard)
I haven't had time to look at the protocol differences between this one and what my Belkin KVM expectes / delivers - but no ps/2 keyboards that I own worked with the SuperHermes - only this Cherry keyboard.

Re: Faulty RAM *RESOLVED*
That's exactly the opposite of my experience. I have no PS/2 keyboard (and I have at least 5) that won't work with SuperHermes. I guess the only thing this shows is: YMMV.Pr0f wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 5:14 pm I went for this keyboard in the end - viewtopic.php?t=4554 (Cherry comptact keyboard)

Re: Faulty RAM *RESOLVED*
Still - I was in the process of building a PS/2 snooper device - that could also double as a go between for those keyboards or KVM's that don't play ball with s/H - as I would really like to hook it up to the KVM along with it's other stablemates.
