Forum E-mail Notifications

Post by t0nyt »

Since the forum moved I don’t seem to be getting e-mail notifications for subscribed topics

Am I the only one please?

Many thanks

It does seem that email notifications seem a bit broken at the moment, thanks for letting us know. I'll dig into this right now and see what's going on.

No problem!

Sorry this took a whole day to sort out, but the long story short is that the hosting provider decided to block outgoing SMTP (even on ports 465/587) to external servers about a week and a half ago, and didn't tell us.

Unfortunately, I spent a whole day going back and forth with their support team only to find out they wouldn't make an exception for us! Fortunately, XorA knew of a sendmail substitute that speaks JMAP, so we were able to bypass the SMTP problem entirely just now. At either rate, the notifications should be working now!
