Sorry to ask this, because I'm sure that it has been asked before, I just can't find the answer anywhere...
I have utilities that create and edit mdv and made files but is there anything that can help with WIN files please? I am looking to inserting and extracting files and programs to and from a WIN file on my QIMSI SD card you see.
Sorry again.
Mark

Hi Mark
If you are trying to manipulate WIN files from a PC or similar and have Java installed, then Wolgang Lenerz' QXLWinReader is a fine utility that I use regularly to move files in and out of WIN files on my Windows PC, ready to re-insert the SD Card hosting the WIN container in to any one of my QLs.
It can be found here:
https://www.wlenerz.com/qlstuff/#qxlwinr
Alternatively, if you use QPC or a similar QL emulator on your PC, you can 'mount' the WIN Container as, say WIN2_ and move files between the emulator's FS and the container file.

Thanks for that, I'll take a look at both suggestions. I do have Qemulator but I have to register that to use WIN files, and to be honest it's a bit pricy
to register.

Actually, QXLWinReader absolutely justifies installing Java on your computer.martyn_hill wrote: Wed Feb 05, 2025 4:59 pm Hi Mark

Hi,
Why the aversion to installing Java, seems to work on all my Windows, Linux computers.
The registration fee on Q-emulator, is not much, and worth the expense for a stable multi QL-ROM emulation system.
