Derek_Stewart wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:53 am Hi,

If you read the User Manual, is stated the extensions used:
QLCOMMANDER v2.1: Page 5 wrote: • ql c_code (contains More_code, Header_code a nd Function_code, all from DIY Too lkit)
• QPTR toolkit
• Turbo Toolkit
• Toolkit 2 (On Qemulator use v2.32 – on QL at least v2.88, but v2.32 is recommended)
• PE environment (hot_rext, pt r_gen, wman – only on QDOS, not needed on SMSQ/E)

This implies at least a QL with 256K ram expansion, or full 640K.
Thank you derek,
I couldn't even calculate the needs by its used extensions.
Note that for people who is expert in this system that would be an easy task, but not for newbies like me,
So I am thankful to you for simplifying it, telling me directly the minimum amount of memory required.

Yes that is all very well, but all the manuals for the extensions stated in the QL Commander manual will have a minimum amount of ram required.

I am sorry that I assumed that everyone reads the manuals, this is a bad habit of mine.

You are right, Derek.
On top of those you we should also calculate the memory needed for QL-SD or QUBIDE + free memory to run programs.
So I would recommend at least a 512k memory extension, a Trump Card with 768k or better (GC/SGC)

That's what you can tell.
Not me.
:)

Note reading the manual is a great habit. I do too.

So 512KB of RAM.
Nice size, thank you Andrew

512kb extension +128kb standard = 640kb total RAM

sorry, I did not mean to imply any aggressive nature.

I only meant to say that since all the documentation is available now, so why not read it?

This was not the case in the past.

I have tried QLC_21 for the first time. First, there is a black window during execution, see pic.
QLC21_01.jpg
One idea: You should use ptrmen_cde, set an OUTL for a covering window and use WMOV#ch, so the user can use CTRL-F4 to move the window at will.

I know you didn't - passive-aggressive isn't quite the same thing as aggressive of course, it's usually done with humour. I certainly didn't mean to imply any real aggression on your part and apart from laughing to myself a little took it exactly as you intended

It reminded me of when my late wife bought me a teddy bear with a big belly and said she liked it because it reminded her of me. Another example of passive-aggressive. Hmmm.
