Now, I have decided to "go back to QL", as it was my childhood dream to replace
unexpanded ZX48 with it. In alternate universe, if I haven't bought C64 and Amiga 1200HD
I would be a QL lover
To me, its unperfect synth of last 8 bit (ports, DOS and basic in ROM, address bus, microdrives, membrane kbd ...) and first 32 bit m68k computer.Sigh, If deceased Sir (RIP) did listen to team and did not save costs (used 68010, built in modem and printer, monitor only, mechanical keyboard, 768k as base mem, 3.5" Sony DD FDD, more colors and sound chip ...) he could beat Atari and Amiga. But QL and its community, as with CBM, Amiga and Atari have persistently expanded old horse beyond its limits ever imagined

ADVICES NEEDED

I need help to improve QL to some usable sys in 024/025 for text edit, printing and light gaming ZX Spectrum hi res style
Dillemmas
- Good Internet resources like QWRAP, QL archive and YT Jaguar vs QL and Noels Retro
- How to take care of QL if in good condition OR repair if not
- How to improve QL without waste of money
- Which games and sw is worth obtaining as best
- Any ideas how to improve my knowledge of QL is good. I never had QL and
know ZX and CBM and AmigaBasic (done by Microsoft!)

I would like to have learn super basic and m68k ASM, have some good games, best QL software, good microdrive replacement (be it floppy, HDD, I am not fan of SD cards) and even print on old laser printer if possible via serual!
