I see, but my question was if that keyboard is attached to QIMSI? Part of your post suggests it was attached to SuperHermes.

Hi Peter.
In the QL booting process, having installed a Tetroid multirom, I can choose whether to start with Minerva or with JS rom. If I set the latter, I connect the keyboard cable to the superhermes light. Please note that I connected Q68,QL, PC win 98 with QXL, pc linux to the same mouse and keyboard via an Athen multiswitch unit.
Everything works fine until, after a while, the Ql freezes. I turn off and restart with Minerva. At this point I can choose whether to start with SMSQE or with POINTER ENVIRONMENT. In both cases the keyboard works wrong (for example the left cursor key prints the \ character). I unplug the power cable and after several hours restarting with Minerva or SMSQE everything works perfectly and the Ql doesn't freeze.
Any ideas?
Thank you very much
Marco

Hi Peter.
Excuse me, the most important thing. When I reboot with Minerva or SMSQE the keyboard is connected to the Qimsi, this time, no more to the superhermes.
Regards.

So you only run into a problem if you use QDOS and keyboard connected via SuperHermes?

How do you select the keyboard connection between SuperHermes and QIMSI? Plugging? Or also by that "Athen multiswitch"?

By the way, I'm not sure we should use this forum thread. The chance that your problem is caused by QIMSI is very low.

The Qimsi works perfectly, I have no doubts about that. Yes, the problem arises only by connecting the keyboard to the SuperHermes and this happens by connecting the keyboard directly to the SuperHermes.
Thanks for your interest, I will try other ways.

Hello, you have created something great. I have been an enthusiastic QL user since 1986. I would like to buy QIMSI. Please write to me what I have to do. Best regards

Hi Marco,

You could try removing the Superhermes, replace with a 8049 and connect the keyboard to the QIMSI.

The problematic constellation was QDOS based, so he can not remove Superhermes if he wants PS/2 keyboard.
Legacy QIMSI only has PS/2 keyboard drivers for Minerva and SMSQ/E.

Just got round to trying out the QIMSI Gold. I just realised I don't have a video lead and I'm not sure what the connector on the board is called so that I can order a suitable lead - is it the same as Mini-HDMI? If not, what do I order?

I have standard and micro HDMI leads only atm, neither of which fit of course.

Also, can the QIMSI Gold output video via the QL (while I wait for a suitable lead!), or to its own video connector only?
