Hi there!
I am attempting to get a working version of QL/E up and running using a QubIDE/QubATA.
I've grabbed the distribution in the "QU" version, which includes an IMG file containing two partitions. No problem to "burn" that to a Compact Flash card. However I'm also attempting to get it running with an old IDE hard drive whilst waiting on my CFlash to IDE adaptor.
I'm using the Image Editor from Habi - basically to load the IMG file, extract the files with QL headers and then insert those files onto the HDD. Everything works great....
Except the 'utl' directory which contains 465 files. I can insert upto 255 files and after that any further files cannot be inserted. If i remove one file i can then add one more etc. Obviously that number is suspicious!
Is this perhaps a limitation of the Image Editor program or perhaps I have formatted the disk incorrectly originally (using the QubATA toolkit). Is there any other way to move the IMG to the hard drive without using Image Editor?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers
s.
QL/E (QU) - QubIDA - Image Editor & more than 255 files
Re: QL/E (QU) - QubIDA - Image Editor & more than 255 files
OK, some progress after finding a very old and extremely noisy 1.2Gb HDD, have been able to write the IMG to the dirve using Win32 Disk Imager, and it boots OK via the QubIDE.
Although I'm hitting a problem with the initial boot - I'll move this topic over into the software forum
