Thank you. Will cogitate, digest and when I am back at the museum, give it a go then report back

I have two USB floppy drives here which I use on my Windows 10 machine. One of them writes HD and DD disks OK. The other will throw a right hissy fit when given a DD disc. Discussing it here a few years ago, I remember that Ralf explained the difference to me, that he thought one of mine had an NEC chipset (from memory, I haven't gone back to check what he said) which could handle DD drives on Windows 10.tofro wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 12:07 am Windows 7 could practically read/write QDOS disks just fine. In Windows 10 that support has officially been removed, DS/DD is no longer supported. (Though it does still work if you have the proper drive and use the proper driver, with some possible caveats).
