Just thought to share some thoughts following the QUANTA AGM that I attended for the first time online yesterday. I should have probably posted this in the QUANTA sub-section, but thought it might get more attention here

I myself joined the meeting a little late, but was able to listen and discuss a couple of topics that were of particular interest to me.
Firstly, I was pleased to note that the QUANTA Newsletter has seen a 'revival' in recent months, principally due to the Editor's own diligent contributions (John Southern.) I understand that editorship is soon to change hands and I'm sure the new editor will warmly welcome all the support we can muster (i.e. article submissions!)
In these days of online Forums and blogs, a Newsletter may seem a little redundant, but I personally like to read longer articles in a 'linear' form rather than the naturally fragmented way we get to read online posts. I also like the idea of a 'Forum Round-up' - highlights from the various QL related forums recorded in one place and in a way I can more easily find topics of interest.
Whilst this topic has come up before, we also discussed the possibility of QUANTA support for a UK-based 'QL is 40' event, having thoroughly enjoyed the Dormagen event earlier in the summer - though more likely it would now be a 'QL is 41' early next year. We discussed how to find a suitable location/venue - I'll post again on this topic to find out what others here think.
Overall, given that QUANTA was (at least one of) the original QL Support groups, I see a natural synergy between our favorite QL Forum and QUANTA and, if we want to see more from QUANTA moving forwards, it seems reasonable to draw-upon the many enthusiastic Forum contributors to divert some of their energy towards rebuilding QUANTA in to the active and valuable support-group we (all?) want from it...
