I was wondering, could a QIMSI Gold be used to diagnose a faulty QL?

As the QIMSI Gold can run independent of the QL maybe it could be used to run diagnostic software to check the QL board.

QIMSI Gold can load a QL extension ROM from microSD card, which could contain diagnostic functions.
The independent video output would allow to display some infos even if the ZX8301 is damaged.

But I'm not sure what priority such a tool should have. There is so much other work to do.
Minerva already has memory tests, and in forum history people seem to have repaired faulty QLs without such a tool.
