Switching Regulator?
Switching Regulator?
Could anyone recommend a switching regulator for my QL please?
It needs to be able to provide enough for the QL/Trump 1 768k/vMap/vDrive combo though please (there's also a disabled quintupler installed)
Many thanks
Tony

Re: Switching Regulator?
Hi
I do not have as many peripherals as you list but can really recommend Traco TSR 2-2450, maximum 2A.

Is there an easy way to tell which way around it goes in the existing QL regulator socket please?
Many thanks

Thanks, as the 3 pins are identical I didn't want to put it the wrong way around into the socket. Or maybe it doesn't matter?Chris_68 wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 4:38 pm Hi,
It's the same pinout, I can take a photo later for you.

Thanks

Oh, it definitely does matter which way it's connected!

Well I’ve got a 50/50 chance of getting it right…1024MAK wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 4:55 pm Oh, it definitely does matter which way it's connected!

Re: Switching Regulator?
The 'dot' indicates pin 1 which is the input (the nominal 9V from the PSU).
The middle pin (pin 2) is 0V/GND
The remaining pin (pin 3) is the +5V output.

Re: Switching Regulator?
Thanks, but I don’t know which pin on the socket is pin 1 and the existing regulator has no mark that I can see either

Re: Switching Regulator?
I think the left pin when you look at the QL from the front is the input, but am not 100% without checking. Just check it with a multimeter, the output pin will be 5v.
