about 5 years ago, I purchased a weird looking expansion adapter for the QL that slots into the traditional expansion port and offers two, side-by-side slots for QL compatible expansion options. After some disassembly, reassembly and figuring out the right kind of power supply required to maintain sufficient current for the dual expansion slots, it’s working. So I have a standard QL with an expanderam and cumana floppy interface. (Of course, I simply could have installed the expanderam -- which has a through-port -- into the QL and attached the cumana interface to the expanderam.
Such an odd device. Any idea if it had a specific application beyond widening/deepening the QL footprint?
