Re: Today I Received...
Well, I did get these two days ago, but anyway, I got a package from Tetroid with a beautiful Issue 6 Repro board and a brand new SuperGoldCard. But what was even cooler was the packaging: it was franked with 637 (yes, six hundred thirty seven!) stamps which were invalidated by not less than 117 postmarks. Yes, that I did actually count this probably tells you more about me than I'd like to admit, but I still found this freakishly cool.
Re: Today I Received...

I guess there's a story behind the stamps I'd like to know

Me too, but unfortunately Vitaliy says this was the post office‘s doing, not histofro wrote:I guess there's a story behind the stamps I'd like to know

Re: Today I Received...
The new Super Gold Card clone was re-made without the Parallel Printer port - presumably because finding a suitable printer is almost impossible nowdays.RalfR wrote:I do not understand the meaning of the missing PAR port.
Re: Today I Received...
Not really. Epson FX-80 compatible printers (the most suitable printers for a QL) with serial and parallel interfaces are still built and sold new. I have one of these (can be had for as low as 160€ new) and my QLs are happy with it.Pr0f wrote:[...because finding a suitable printer is almost impossible nowdays.

I did qualify my statement with "presumably" and "almost" - perhaps this is lost in translation?tofro wrote:Not really. There was no intention to correct you (in fact, no bad intention at all). Just presume above information has almost been amended to your postPr0f wrote:I did qualify my statement with "presumably" and "almost" - perhaps this is lost in translation?tofro wrote:Not really. In fact I think the original SGC layout that was really packet tight with features (and ICs) - which is a bit of a show-off of manual PCB layout of the ninties - was just easier to re-create without a (presumably, sic) unnecessary parallel port. I find myself really rarely printing from a QL these days.
