Who gives a flip, other than on maybe paydays (hahaha) if we are 1 through 31... this will not save your butt...
So get the important # out there 1st.
But the #1 through #12 may save your buttocks. #13 through #31 do me no good... other than saying I popped out of a momma on a certain day.

Number systems generally go from largest to smallerst or sometimes - smallest to largest - so I see no reason why the date should not be recorded the same way - it makes sense numerically. To write the date as mm/dd/yyyy is partially backwards. If you want an even bigger vindication - RTC registers for most time keeping chips view the date in the day / month / year order.
