Documentation

Post by dilwyn »

I'd like to find out what types of documentation and articles people would like to see made available for the QL, over and above what is already available through sites like mine.

As an example, are there any topics not adequately covered for new users? This Forum is pretty good at signing up new users, but I don't know how easy or difficult it is to find the information needed to get started.

I can't promise, but I will try to see what more could be done to help new users.

One example I can think of might be a page listing "get-started" sources of information.

Hi Dilwyn,

I am quite qurious about this QL series of publications, apparently there is one introductory title. Please see here just a sample:

A QL dream would be to have one day some QL mags scanned as well. Just for interest I have one of your own ZX titles on Basic scanned as well. :D

Another example of some ATARI ST USER devotion can be seen here, this English lad bought out all Atari magazines, scanned them and posted on his website.

Ah - the Hutchinson QL Series of books - I have several copies of most of these - see:

They are not a particularly good book in my opinion - many were written without access to a QL and tend to contain a large section of repeated information across the series....

I did start to scan some things, but as ever, time is the enemy.

To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with those books. I had copies of them many years ago and I agree completely with what RWAP said about them.
