IDIS by Digital Precision

Post by RWAP »

I have just come across a copy of IDIS, together with the source code for the program.

Does anyone know if this was released as freeware / public domain?

I don't know if it was released for distribution, but at least that's one less thing for me to try and recover of mdv (I have an original cart).

I did manage to get a copy of Computer 1 assembler, Rich / Dilwyn do you want me to send you a copy ?

Cheers.

Phill.

Yes, we have preserved IDIS and the Computer 1 Assembler.

IDIS was written by Philippe Lagarrigue - does anyone know him?

Unfortunately not. Freddy has sent the program to me (BTW: from where do you get the source...? If not from the author??) and it does all well, especially extracting keywords from bigger Toolkits. And the "ISIT" extension is well done.

Hmm - does anyone have a screenshot of the Digital Precision version please.

I contacted that Philippe Lagarrigue - hopefully it's the right one!

As for where I found the sources.... well... they were on a QLCF CD-ROM - including some smaller files about changes when the author was in correspondence with our very own Norman Dunbar....

Just a quick update - I have now spoken with Philippe and he is happy for IDIS to be re-released as freeware :D

He has also given permission for the sources from the QL-CF CD-ROM to be made available

Bloody hell, that was some time back, I remember (vaguely) now. I found a bug in the program and helped get it fixed. I think it failed to disassemble a short BSR correctly. Freddy sent me a complimentary copy of IdIS SE for my labours.

I'd love to get my hands on the source code!

Cheers,
Norm.

I've made IDIS SE available at http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/asm/index.html but not yet found the sources - will add them when located.
