Qemulator and ROMS
Qemulator and ROMS
I have a Metacomco "QL Pascal" ROM which works alright on a Black Box when you type ROM. But when I save the ROM's memory location (SBYTES FLP1_MY_ROM,49152,16384) and install it on Qemulator in the QL Configurator Ext. ROM and then type ROM I get BAD ROM. Am I doing something wrong?
Re: Qemulator and ROMS
Probably nothing. If I remember right, the MCC Pascal ROM command tried to write into its program code. If it succeeded, it considered itself pirated (because not running from a ROM).
I do not know whether you can write protect the ROM area on QEmulator. If you could, that probably would solve your problem.

Re: Qemulator and ROMS
@HullQlMan do you get this error from the emulator or from Pascal?
@tofro, the ROM area is always write-protected
Maybe the board contains additional logic and not just the eprom?

Re: Qemulator and ROMS
The error 'BAD ROM' appears over Windows #1 and #2 when I type ROM from SuperBasic. On the Black Box the text "Metacomco QL Pascal (not sure of exact wording!) appears in the same place.
Re: Qemulator and ROMS
It works fine on my machine. I get the correct "QL PASCAL Version 1.8" across my #1 and #2 windows on QEmulator. Try the attached rom image. It is zipped, otherwise I wasn't able to attach it.
