I will try another chip.
I will also build your tester although I've already tested the clock on a breadboard to see if the circuit is correct and it worked.
What I haven't tested and I'm not sure how to test is whether the I2C communication circuit based on GAL logic ...

I have both files: miniconfig_bas and I2C_IO_BIN on flp1_ main dir...
I do following things:
turn on QL
tk2_ext
lrespr flp1_I2C_IO_BIN
lrun flp1_miniconfig_bas
Am I missing sth?

I'm still trying to make my Minerva RTC work...

While running miniconfig_bas I had the "At line 1140;2 error in expression"
Then I LRESPR i2c_io_bin (as mentioned by @Arleybls) and now I have "At line 1140;2 format failed"
It seems that I2C_IO is still not working...

Any help ...

It works! Plain cable and flp2_ (drive has no jumpers) - GREAT!

As for the clock - I don't get it. Once I use the tools and set date/time - Minerva will read it automatically at startup?
Or should I have sth to run at boot time?

By "third" I meant my variation on Mini Trump 3 that also works flawlessly.

I'm using Sony MFP920 drive that is said to work OK and it is (tried also Alps - not OK).

This is really strange - I use the same drive, same cable and SAME ICs ...

Also I'm using the same drive and the same cable. I also had third TC card made by me - this also works.

Help needed. Using Alvaro Alea's boards I've just built Mini Trump 3 and Trump 2 Clone cards.
The first one is working like a charm the second is not - but the schematics are almost the same.
I'm also using the same chips: WD, ROM, inverters. TC2 clone boots up - I can see the messages - so ...
