Voltage regulator board?
Hi all,
I just received a QL which I was told was working. However, when I connected it to the power supply, there was no sign of life. Upon opening the case I noticed a rather odd looking board in place of the standard 7805 voltage regulator and heatsink. I checked the voltages on the regulator ...

Re: Spem QL keyboard
I would be interested in one for my QL if they are available.Derek_Stewart wrote: Thu Apr 27, 2023 9:02 pm Hi,
I have 7 Beige AT Midi Tower PC cases with Power Supplies, they were going to be for a Q60 or QL.
But never got around to building them.

Re: Spem QL keyboard
It's a bit tricky finding one. Some AT cases had the required length, but there's probably no way to tell for sure without trying (and some cutting). I have a QL built into an AT case that uses the original AT PSU and has a back plane etc. The original owner built it in 1990.
Good luck to you ...

Re: Spem QL keyboard
I have ordered a vDrive - should be here any day now
- that will occupy one mdv spot so I could use the other. But with my RAM expansion and "new" keyboard, I would like to attempt a big box style QL.

Re: Sinclair QL Miracle Systems Expanderam 512KB RAM
I see. So I just need a 3D printed RAM card cover in the QL style.Chr$ wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 11:32 am As the RAM card has a pass-through for something else (usually used for an FDD interface) I think the idea of the metal shroud was to cover the protruding part of the RAM card and all of the next expansion card in the 'chain'.

Sinclair QL Miracle Systems Expanderam 512KB RAM
Morning all,
My "new" 512K Expanderam arrived today and I now have a full 640K 😍
My question is, what are you supposed to do with the metal plate that covers the bottom (or is that the top) of the RAM card? I initially assumed the board would fit into the side with the plate attached but it doesn ...
