I was amazed at the prices, as they aren't even working and no keyboards/mice or manuals. I hope who ever won them can get them working so they can increase the population of working Thors.
I guess rarity is winning out, I suspect far fewer than a thousand Thor 8's were ever made, and probably only ...

Re: Thor 8 with no keyboard
I have a Thor as well, but from memory when I tried either a standard IBM XT or AT keyboards back in the 1980's it wouldn't work. I don't have either an XT or AT keyboard to try on it now.

Thor 8 with no keyboard
I see on Ebay there are two Thor 8's without keyboards, just in case a lucky forum member gets one of them, the Thors use a non standard keyboard, but as a stop gap measure you can actually connect a standard QL keyboard into the QL motherboard and it will work, I did this in the late 1980's so my ...

Re: Speed Screen Fudge 2 Font editor
Interesting, so likely something altered by CST and called "FUDGE" for the Thor, as it came on the official supplied disks.

Speed Screen Fudge 2 Font editor
While looking through my old disks I found a copy of "FUDGE 2" v2.5 by Simon N Goodwin, Speedscreen User-defined graphics editor, allows you to edit or create new fonts.
I can't seem to see it in the reference section, only a Speedscreen demo.

Re: Help External System Roms Not being run.
Fixed it, but just in case anyone else has the issue, it was a dodgy capacitor on the Reset circuit. Capacitor C4, a 4.7uf just below the serial ports on the QL motherboard.

Re: Help External System Roms Not being run.
Checking more, on a cold restart (when its not been powered on for a while, few hours) it finds all the Roms. But if you power down, then on again straight away or even 5 minutes later it doesn't find the roms. But a warm reset does find the roms. So it seems like a capacitor is holding a level high ...

Help External System Roms Not being run.
Help..... was doing a good deed and saving copies of my Thor System Roms and User Roms for Dilwyns website. But I seem to have got my system in a twist, when I boot now it posts my External Thor System Rom and Serial, but not the User Roms.

Re: CST Thor 1 EPROM problem
Old thread and not sure if you ever solved the serial issue, but from memory the Serial Rom should be put in the first bottom slot (Furthest away from the connector), you have it one slot up going by your photo, so I suspect the Thor security check looks for it in the wrong memory space.
