yup, i noted that in the manual, just playing around to see if this QL/E distribution would do it's thing, unlikely to be using it in anger at this resolution - indeed for many applications it would be counter productive anyway.

I think I see a 65536 color screenshot in 1024x768 ...

So far - very nice indeed.

I do need to fiddle with the keyboard driver - although I'm not sure I'd use my external keyboard a great deal.

Very happy to finally be able to run SMSQ/E and front ends and not needing a variety of addons for video etc.

Marvellous, everything (seems to be) working.

I tried once again on Mac, which produced the same result.
I then tried on Windows and this time the machine boots into what I think is SMSQ/E.

It would seem the lack of the "format size adjustment" option in SD Card Formatter on MacOS was the cause ...

yup - that's exactly what I did - as per my initial post. I followed the directions in the manual to format the card, and then copied the files from the ZIP in the order specified. I'll give it another go and see if there is any difference.

I did spend quite some time trying to find my mini-hdmi cable from the "safe place" i put it long ago :) before hooking things up, but was unsuccessful so tried without that. Will get another one before proceeding. I suspected I'd not done something right.

I've just got my QIMSI Gold and am having trouble getting started with it. Hoping some of you might be able to help and perhaps point out where i've gone wrong and anything else stupid I've missed.
