It works fine on my machine. I get the correct "QL PASCAL Version 1.8" across my #1 and #2 windows on QEmulator. Try the attached rom image. It is zipped, otherwise I wasn't able to attach it.

Re: How to start programming with assembly?
Try the attached asm.zip file. Unzip into a new directory, attach it as a folder to the first slot on your unregistered Qemulator. It should work. I tested it on my mac after de-registering my version. Not sure what the difference is with the zip on Dylwin's site, but apparently the qdos header info ...

Re: How to start programming with assembly?
Ah, I just realize that the zip file on Dylwin's site is actually from me. That boot file looked awfully familiar. Anyway, it appears I'm about the only one who uses the Adder assembler. If it's not working for you, or you'd like a more modern implementation, there's plenty of other options (also at ...

Re: How to start programming with assembly?
Okay, I just download that version too. It's a zip file, so download as is, and put it somewhere. Under QEmulator, attach the zip file to slot 1 (as ZIP/QLPAK). If you do dir flp1_ (or win1_) you should see asm, asmhelp, asmtext, and boot. Just type exec_w flp1_asm and it should run, provided you ...

Re: How to start programming with assembly?
The adder assembler only runs on 128Kb QLs. If you run it under Qemulator with more than that, it won't make it through its start-up screen (I just double-checked). I'm not seeing the 'bad or changed medium' error though. Perhaps your copy of asm is corrupt?

Re: Qubide clone
I just got mine in the mail. Can't test it fully yet since I don't have a correct disk-on-module, but everything else works fine. The RAM is full speed which makes the TK2 file server work. Soon I'll be able to access the "harddrive" from across the network. [I have 4 QLs hooked up to a single Sony ...

Re: QL memory expansion
Oh well. Thanks for checking though. I guess we have to wait for some new hardware developments - superram comes to mind.

Re: QL memory expansion
Well, I received the -08 chips today. Eagerly swapped the 150ns versions for the speedy 80ns ones. Plugged the expanderam back into the QL, booted, and ran the ram speed test. It took exactly the same amount of time (22.5 seconds) to finish as before! Bummer. I guess there's something else that's ...

Re: QL memory expansion
As soon as I get the faster chips, I'll post a comparison. Hopefully early next week.
