What is it?

Any ideas what this is?

It is a machine code program - there are three files aff_cde, map_cde and car_cde, which get loaded into memory and then CALLed.

You control an egg like shape and can move it about the grid.

The computer moves another egg and the block, both of which start moving and then just seem to get stuck.

There does not seem to be anything else which happens - you can't move off the screen and can move onto the same area where the computer controlled shapes are (but not the static ones).

It was on a cartridge marked simply 'RELIEF'

Ah - I have found some information out about this....

It was a proposal for a new game by B D Hambüchen (who wrote Gwendoline). It was a demo of a 3D concept game inspired by Knight Lore on the Spectrum.

What a shame it was never progressed any further - I wonder if the author is still about?

I will pass the files onto Dilwyn so that people can at least try it - who knows it may form the basis of a new game - at least it would be interesting to find out why it crashes on Minerva.

In the meantime, the zip file is attached (this is zipped under Windows - ready for use with q-emulator)
