I have now preserved a copy of ArchDEV/RTM by Psion - the runtime package for programs developed in QL Archive.

See http://www.rwapadventures.com/ql_wiki/i ... TM&lang=en for more details.

Will there be downloads available at some stage Rich? (I may have missed the link if there already is!). Will it be free to use?

Generaly, there is missing a QL site, "world of spectrum"-like.
But the QL Wiki can be a good beginning after addition of file downloads.

I can't offer free downloads of commercial software, without permission from the copyright holders.

I do add them to my own RWAP Software site, for people to buy copies if they have the original but need a working copy - but the format is terrible to find what you want, and people are not willing to pay a fee. The fee reflects the time taken to preserve the software in the first place, to get it working, and to distribute it...

Psion have never given their permission for QL software (except for Xchange) to be freely distributed for some reason - it may be worth another approach.

Has anyone tried sorting out the copyright position on ArchDEV/RTM ??

I did speak to Psion a few years back, but they were unable to clarify the position as they thought they had transferred the rights to someone, but never got back to me over this.

I know PDQL used to sell this as did Digital Precision, so maybe they had the rights to it ?

Sorry - I am not going to waste any more of my time trying to sort out the copyright position on programs so that they can be made freeware - someone else needs to come forward and offer to help, rather than leaving it all to me!
