Hi all,

Does anyone know for the original Thor that was based on a QL motherboard, what QL ROM version was generally supplied with the machine ? e.g. JM, JS etc ?

While the operating system of the Thor is known as Argos, the documentation makes reference to "national ROMs" as appropriate, I couldn't see a reference to MG, JS, JM etc, but it does make reference to departing from startup sequences, so it sounds like it included code to check for existing ROM versions.

It also makes reference to checksums to identify ROMs and actually mentions going into a green screen loop mode if unknown ROM found.

Thanks for those documents most useful, though it seems the Thor rom versions that are on Dilwyn's site are all for the Thor XVI Certainly that's what the signon message says anyway. They also seem to be making accesses to I/O that don't seem to match up with the circuit, unless the I/O is incompletely decoded which I wouldn't put past them

Does anyone happen to have dumps of the two PALS IC4 and IC13 ?

I have added a couple of THOR 1 EPROMs to the preservation group's shared drive (Hardware section) - Dilwyn - could you ad them to your site please.

Not sure if the THOR XVI ROMs I uploaded are the same as the ones you have already
