I know it's not much of an achievement, but for me it is...

As I wanted to be able to use the QSound clone card with both v1.40 & v1.94 ROMs (mainly because of v1.94 omitting the print functionality & the problem with Arcanoid) I used what I learned from everyone on the ROM switcher for my JS/Minerva Mk2 Switcher to be able to switch QSound ROMs (a slight false start when I programmed the EPROM wrongly for the card)

It looks a bit Frankenstein, I know. The slight smoke marks on the heat shrink are due to me only being able to find an old lighter to heat them and I got a little too close. The switch is stuck to the EPROM with a sticky pad at the moment, but it's a bit wobbly so will probably glue it on (hopefully super glue won't melt the EPROM case?)

Nice adaptation

There are smaller one that could fit better to introduce and extract from the QL.
IF you are sure about this mod, and already are the scheme of that board
Do you want to redesign the PCB to fit all inside with better localization and the switch also soldered in the board?

Also we could put that DCDC in a better place not so close of the edge.

It should not take more than an afternoon to do it. Even I could teach you to use Kicad by yourself if you want.

In your case... considering the switch, you could use a jumper, that would be much smaller and easy to place.

Also... why not to place that switch on the edge next to the audio jack? would be much easier to change the ROM without the need to extract or open the QL (and again it would be much better, aesthetic and easy a jumper).

Many thanks for the offer Popopo, but I don't foresee any circumstances where I'd be needing to fit it inside the QL so am happy with it as it is (the height thing didn't even occur to me)
