A couple of years ago I backed a Kickstarter to bring a documentary on the Speccy to life.

The film was released as an early-access digital download a few days ago and I watched it last night. I'm not sure what the plans are for releasing it beyond the kickstarter backers, but they did mention that they were in talks with a chain of small cinemas around the country to have it play on a special Spectrum event day. If that does happen, I can recommend it - the content and production values are excellent.

The film actually covers Sinclair from as far back as its radio days, through to the present day with the Spectrum Next. Clones are also covered.

It has lots of interviews with people from Sinclair Research itself, the games devs, media people, members of Clive's family etc. People like Nigel Searle, Chris Curry, Jim Bagley, etc.

The QL gets a few mentions; apparently it and Clive's obsession with new tech sucked all the R&D budget out of other projects.

Anyway, great stuff. See it if you can. And see whether you can spot my name in the credits amongst the hundreds of other backers :D
