I need to make some space so I’m thinning out my collection. I’ve no time to put this stuff on ebay, so I want to give it away free to someone who can collect it from me in the UK. I’m in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. I’m still keeping my ‘main’ QL (and hope to add a QIMSI to it at some stage) so I’ll continue to lurk on the forum. The items are:
One QL. Worked when last tested. JM ROM. Case in decent condition. The microdrives are untested. The RGB output worked when last tested.
Comes with: Original PSU (believed working), some microdrives, untested; AV cable; two plastic ‘feet’; a Hermes manual (it’s possible the machine has the Hermes chip installed, but best assume not). All of this comes in the original box and polys, a little worn, but not too bad.
ICE ROM (working when last used), in original packing with microdrive (untested) and manual.
Magazines:
QL User: Oct. 1984 to Dec. 1985.
QL World: all of July 1985 to May 1994 (including the first ever issue, vol. 1, no. 1, still in its plastic wrapper. This must belong in a museum!).
QL SUB (Super User Bureau), issues 1-4 and catalogue.
Books:
QL Technical Guide, in its original plastic box.
Dickens, QL Advanced User Guide.
Pennell, The Sinclair QDOS Companion.
Opie, QL Assembly Language Programming.
Metacomco, Assembler Development Kit manual.
I’m afraid I won’t be able to split this material up: I need someone to take it all! Paul

Re: Free stuff
I can collect this if you wish, but at east not until next weekend as I'm having to go down to Cornwall this week to start getting my Dad's house on the market.
I've been trying to get a complete set of Sinclair QL World to take to the RMC Cave as a donation but seem to have lost at least a year, so your archive would be ideal to put into binders for the donation.

Re: Free stuff
Hi, do you still have anything left from your collection...? I would love any of the books, and of course the QL itself would be amazing...
Re: Free stuff
That's a nice little bundle. Glad to see the magazines making it to Neil's cave...I think he needs a bit more QL stuff. If I ever visit the UK, it's one place I'd love to visit.
Hermes, ICE ROM, QL Worlds from 90 to 94 looks like you had my setup
I still have everything except the QL Worlds...those I sold on eBay in the early 00s unfortunately.
[Edit: I'm envious whenever I see a free postings on here...don't think I'll ever come across that here in the US for QL stuff. One of these days though, maybe, I'll come across a yard sale and there will be a QL sitting on a folding table and everyone looking at it will think "what kind of weird keyboard is that" which is a testament to how modern the QL looked back when it came out in 84
I can just see people trying to stick USB or SD cards into the microdrive slots and someone pertaining to be an expert saying "oh, those are older memory card slots used by cameras."]

Re: Free stuff
Hi, I've just seen these replies.
Most of this stuff has gone now, though to a good home. I still have some Acorn bits (including a couple of Electrons) and some Commodore bits (including two Plus 4s), if anyone is interested. I've not posted a list here because it's just not QL, but if someone thinks they might like to have this little pile for the price of collecting it from Leamington Spa, then let me know and I can give details. Paul

Re: Free stuff
Hi,
Normally, I would come and collect all this, but I do not have a car for 5 hour round drive from Cheshire.
You could post your remaining computer items on the Acorn Forum: Stardot:
https://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/index.php
There is many people there who will want all the items you have left.

Re: Free stuff
If you'd have said I'd have taken everything off your hands and redistributed them to needy retro people.
