QL to VGA / RGB to HDMI HD-VC9900 Video Converter Board

Been messing around with the HD-VC9900 boards, similar to the GBS-8220 but outputs to HDMI instead of VGA. I use the gbs-control custom firmware (
https://github.com/ramapcsx2/gbs-control) and a Wemos D1 Mini Wifi board. Results are excellent with the custom firmware handling both the TV & Monitor mode really well.
The custom firmware didn't require any alteration to the sync signal or the RGB so a straight through 8pin to 6pin DIN connector to plug it all in. A similar DIN to VGA cable will also work I just set mine up with a 6pin DIN so I can use it with my Amstrad CPC6128 and BBC Micro as well.
I've also created a 3D printed case for the board

Nice job TomDD. Only one comment: the case should be totally black

I've been using the GBS board for many years, and I knew abot the custom firmware, but the upgrading process was quite complex for my limited capabilities. Could you tell me if there is a simple way to flash the firmware today?

Coincidentally, I just ordered one of these in the US last week. Only $34. I am thinking of making a universal input panel for it as part of my rack system, so it can auto switch between multiple sources.

Not had any issues with the latest firmware just using the Arudino IDE on my PC via USB. I prefer the D1 Mini boards over the others so would recommend that. Also the author of the gbs-control has created a nice guide to flashing

Just set-up a new D1 Mini and followed the instructions and it flashed first time no problems.

Just ordered one, £32.74 (incl VAT & postage with current discount:

Be interested to see input panel, something that sounds useful
TomDD neat case!
