No magic, there are probably small signal inverters in the socket below the EPROMs. The basic schematic for using EPROMs is documented many times in this forum.
Enter
Code: Select all
SBYTES flp1_lightning_bin,49152,16384
to get the lightning binary.

Probably _lngINIT command to activate it. As Marcel says, discussed often before e.g.
viewtopic.php?t=224
Link to a manual in that thread too.

Makes me wonder, why it appears twice on the screen, I often have seen this by others.

Old TK2 ROMs had special code that detected if it was invoked from $CC000 and in that case checks if it was already initialised from $C000. So probably some incomplete address decoding going on.

The ICE rom does the same thing, showing up twice.

Hi,
I bought LightningSE on ROM when in the 1990s, it was a good addon, but used up the ROM port.
Minerva rom graphics improvement give 98% of speed of LightningSE, according to the Minerva Manual, but I never compared this in a test and I can not remember anyone doing a speed comparison.
There is a nice attach font option to specified channel command, a little redundant, since TK2 and SMSQ/E does it better.
