Free Circuit Analysis Software

It looks to be for Windows and I have not tried to use it on Linux under Wine, yet, but Spectrum Soft (no relation) are giving away Micro-Cap 12. Free, no source, no support, just the previous release CD.

https://www.spectrum-soft.com/download/download.shtm

If anyone is interested.

Cheers,
Norm.

Hi Norm,

I tried this on MX Linux, the 32bit version of MicroCap 12 work great under Wine, and updates OK.

I usual use KiCad and gEDA with the circuit analysis tools that come with them or can be used long side them.

It would be handy to have QL version of this as well.

Thanks for the update Derek.

Unfortunately, while Spectrum Soft are giving this away free, they are keeping the source code locked up. At least for now. Shame.

Cheers,
Norm.

Interesting software! It works perfectly under Wine, both the 32 and 64 bit versions, on Linux Mint 19.3 64 bit.

I have no idea how to work this yet, but the user guide and reference manual will make interesting (maybe) bedtime reading.

It seems that the Readme.pdf file, which mentions installing the software, might be incorrect as the exe files in the downloaded zip just work from wherever they have been extracted to. No need to install.

Anyway, have fun!

Cheers,
Norm.
