I tested this .img file with uQLx and it ran fine. Granted the images were a little wider on the QL screen. Nicely done.

Yes dear.

Well the Anime images can be done at the original aspect ratio without loose pixels (1,33 in mode 8, 1,66 in mode 4), instead the arcade/cpc ones will be cropped and so we preferred to let it at his original state.

This was only a test that we done in a couple of hours, just for pleasure.

But the way about Max do the dithering work on Photo Shop (using a mix of techniques) is absolutely astonishing.

I was using a program called RETROSPECS (for iPhone/iPad) that works well but...can't to a professional dithering as Max have showed me.

I was petrified when I see my GIF's totally re-rendered by him.

Best regards

Hi,

Compliments, this is all very good.
I once tried using GIMP + UNGIF, but no match to your results - astonishing!

Are there any future plans for porting ZX games to QL?
If so, I wish to take part in that coding team.

EDIT
With today's technologies it might not be impossible. I believe that in 80's most ZX screens were created by hand, using a design sheet similar to one here.

I wish a very nice 2017 to all!!!

Hi,

Are you disassembling the Spectrum game code or writing from observation of the game?

Porting over Spectrum Basic programmes is no problem, but most of the best Spectrum programmes/games are written in Z80 assembler code.

Many years ago I started writing a Macro libraries to model the Z80 mnemonics. I think the 68K CPU mnemonics could emulate the Z80 very easily, just need to model the Spectrum memory map in the QL system. Seems not hard, but implementation is another thing.

But never finished, I got diverted to producing the same sort of thing for the 6502 CPU on a 68K CPU system, the idea was to convert Elite to 68K code using 6502 macro definitions..

Do you think this worth developing?
