1st Time in 15 years!

The old Black Box powered up for the first time in est. 15 years tonight. With Derek's 220 based PS and a converter between that and the 110 supply here and what with barely responding to power progressing to a blue, later red & white screen on each monitor used during the evening; also from fitful growls and red LEDs from both microdrives to a robust same from the one drive. Not responding to keyboard yet, but that could be anything, such as cabling.

I have much in the way of various lists on the SS Abacus on Qemulator. I likely will end up with two "desktop" QLs (one mini-tower & one Black Box w/ the old floppies arrangement) and a road warrior emulator on the Macs. It will remain to be seen how much sneakernet between traveling emulator and stationary black boxes & the like there will be.

Thanks all,

Excellent news, I wonder if it needs a new keyboard membrane?

It uses an IBM or whatever keyboard attaching by "one of those round plugs" to something snaking out of the case near one of the "Net" ports; doesn't look right from what I remember, so next daylight we open 'er up. Thanks.

Actually, it is most likely to be a Schoen keyboard interface - http://www.rwapadventures.com/ql_wiki/i ... ds&lang=en

It could have be the Falkenburg Keyboard-90, which is what I used to have. The description could cover a number of the keyboard interfaces.
