This behaviour is really strange. Do you have something in between the video line? HDMI or VGA switch or whatever?
We already tested many different monitors and HDMI to VGA adapters successful. Can you kindly share some images?
Can you borrow another monitor from a friend to test?
Thanks!
Stephan
Hi Stephan,
I have a VGA switch, but everything else going thru it is fine (QL VGA & TI-99/4a VGA)
Will try and get a picture
I’ve managed to get a working image by passing the Qimsi Gold VGA output thru an OSSC to HDMI.

What is "QL VGA" as the QL has no VGA output?
With which device did you convert QIMSI to VGA?
By “QL VGA” I mean a QL to VGA device like Chr$/techy sell
The QIMSI gold has a simple MiniHDMI to VGA cable (also tried MiniHDMI to HDMI). The OSSC solves the issue which suggests my Sony doesn’t like the signal it gets for some reason
Thanks Tony, and also for the further infos provided by PM. In conclusion, I see a timing incompatibilty between QIMSI Gold and the rather old Sony TV.
Since the vast majority of monitors were successfully tested with QIMSI, and you have a workaround with the OSSC, we have decided not to risk experimental FPGA changes for this particular TV.
