Re: Issue 6 board updates
Really nice job, Derek - a real labour of love!
It is probably time we (collectively) wrote an update for the iss7 board, at least in terms of board layout (I don't believe it is logically any different from iss6.)

Re: Issue 6 board updates
Hi,
There is still a little more work to do, the diagrams a bit fuzzy from the cut and paste from PDF files, I will redraw them in LibreOffice.
The circuit schematic diagrams are produced in a Postscript format so are not easily edited, I started to enter the Issue 5, 6 board schematics into KiCad, but that is another big job.
The idea was to modify the Issue 6 schematic and board layout to produce a Issue 7 schematic and layout, based on a Issue 7 QL I have.

Derek, why not to share the work?
If it is open for community, I could also collaborate with my basis about KiCAD to pass Schemms to KiCAD and also for future modifications (about conns, etc).
Re: Issue 6 board updates
And thanks to all of you for your great job.
I am doing just a little by now... in a calc sheet, writing down all components needed and some comments to place on the "Iss6" board that sell tetroid.
Perhaps that will be useful for somebody else. So, anyone wants just tell and I will share it.

Re: Issue 6 board updates
Hi,
I am drawinf the scanned diagrams, which take a little time to do.
The circuit diagram, is one sheet, I think I split it into several sheets to simplify the schematic.
The BOM (Bill Of Materials) is listed in the Service Manual, but I would prefer to enter the schematic into Kicad and grnerate the BOM that way

Re: Issue 6 board updates
Hi,
I have redrawn, all the diagrams in the Service Msnual, rather than badly scanned images.
I am into the process of redrawing with Libre Office Draw, the QL PCB Layout diagrams, which will be A3 in size.
The circuit diagrams are A2.
Does the mixing of A4 and A3 pages in a PDF file matter?

The mixing formats A4 and A3 are really awesome!!! Great idea

Thank you very much!
Edit: Could somebody tell me where to buy J11 and J12 connectors? They are double line pins, not like in Spectrum 48K, so I couldn't find those connectors.

I see that is just single road pins. Molex like Speccy 48K, so nothing hard to find.
Than you

Which will force you to get them in right way round. Note the keyboard membrane is single-sided!Popopo wrote: Tue Oct 10, 2023 11:02 pmOh!Derek_Stewart wrote: Tue Oct 10, 2023 4:30 pm Try Sellmyretro
