I see that there is another seller who thinks the QL Series is rare - see for example:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Data-Base-Man ... 2c74357dff

At that price I have probably skipped £2000 worth of these things - they seem to breed!

For the uninitiated, many of the QL Series books are quite appalling - many contain the same material as each other, some were written before the QL was even available, and many are just another beginners guide..

Some of them make for an interesting read, but there are better out there.

In my opinion:
- Psion programs: Get the Blueprint books (there was another in the series which I have never seen)
- SuperBASIC: Get Jan Jones book and the SBASIC/SuperBASIC Reference Manual
- Machine Code: Get Colin Opie's book, the Adrian Dickens book and the Sunshine publications book (all 3 have different benefits - such as device drivers, interfacing to SuperBASIC and speed)....

What happens when eBay ads get posted is that the prices get stupidly hyper-inflated as we compete amongst ourselves.

I propose the forum owners ban repeating links to eBay ads. Either that or, when a person posts there's an eBay ad here, as a politeness they have dibs on bidding for it. If they give up their dibs, the next person to call dibs gets to bid on it without everyone here just pushing the price stupidly high.

Or... something.

Blah, blah, blah.

Everyone complains about Ebay prices. But tell me ONE of us who sells his/her prized QL toys for little money?

And if you got microdrive carts for cheap, I want some! :D

I'm not saying they should be cheap. I'm saying when we bid against each other we all lose out - if a person is interested in an auction, it seems to be against their interests to post it here. So either don't, or if someone does, it needs to be stated if they have an interest in the auction.

You go on to say you want cheap microdrives, well, maybe they wouldn't be so expensive then, would they? Also, microdrives are dead. One SDHC interface will likely cost less than 10 or 15 blank cartridges that may or may not work.
